Who is Robin Varga?
She completed the basic level training in Foot, Hand, Ear Reflexology and continued to the advanced level, which included the integration of the Foot, Hand and Ear Reflexology. Upon completion, Robin’s love affair with Reflexology was launched.
Robin has been a long-time member of the Reflexology Association of California (RAC), having served on its Board of Directors as both Treasurer (1995-1997) and President (1997-1999). She remains an active member, adding a membership to the International Council of Reflexologists (ICR), and a Board Certification by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
Robin has also been certified to teach Foot, Hand and Ear Reflexology through the American Academy of Reflexology and Bill Flocco. She has been teaching at several Massage Therapy schools in the greater Bay Area since 1995, including the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork, Healing Arts Institute in Citrus Heights CA and the Massage Therapy Institute in Davis CA.
She teaches a course in Stress Reduction/Pain Control (3 hours), the Foot, Hand and Ear Reflexology seminars (28 hours), and the Integrated Course of Foot, Hand and Ear Reflexology (150 hours). All of these courses provide CE’s through the NCBTMB, the American Reflexology Certification Board, (ARCB), and various associations, ABMP, AMTA.
She has maintained her full time Reflexology/Massage practice through the years. She has also included Corporate Bodywork to her resume since the mid-90s, working for several small businesses throughout the years.
More recently, since 5/2009, Robin was hired to provide on-site Reflexology at Zynga Corp in San Francisco, joining the Wellness group there. She continues that practice, loving the chance to help ease stress during the busy work day, in the corporate workplace.
What sets Robin apart?
Robin loves her work. She loves working with her clients, and tried to address all of their individual needs as best she possibly can. Reflexology enables contact with the client in a safe, non-invasive, non-intrusive way, while providing results on many levels. Much of this depends on the client’s needs, but Robin uses her knowledge and experience to facilitate the body’s innate healing ability.
Whether purely for relaxation, or for more therapeutic reasons, Robin hones in on what seems to be the best way to deal with the issues at hand. Using the various techniques and skills, she does her best to provide the client with the desired outcome.
Robin has worked with cancer patients, dealing with the results of chemo and radiation, some facing dire outcomes. Robin’s mix of Reflexology and nurturing touch, can help provide a respite from the pain and discomfort many experience under these dire circumstances.
Robin’s skills as an instructor through the years, coupled with her practical skills in reflexology and bodywork, have provided her with a unique perspective at assessing and managing her clients care.
Robin also has been an accomplished French horn player since her high school days and continues to perform with Symphony Parnassus in SF, and the Mendocino Music Festival every summer.
